Learning in Second Grade
In second grade, students learn about fossils and the world long ago, deepen their understanding of place-value to add and subtract numbers up to 1,000, and write multi-page books about themselves, others, and information they’ve learned. For much of the year, they will study pollinators in our community and world both as scientists and as socially conscious change-makers. It’s an exciting year to watch them begin to read chapter books on their own and study the world around them more deeply.
